Scott Allen Bio:
I am Scott Allen, the owner of the custom vivarium construction company, Vivarium Works. I am currently a Biology major attending Texas A&M University Corpus Christi and am but a year out from graduating. I specifically am focusing my studies on Botany, with a heavy emphasis on Bryophytes (mosses). I have been involved in custom vivarium construction since my senior year in high-school and have worked with a large number of mediums over the years, as I have placed aside each of my summers to research and development for new techniques. I have had the opportunity to study many reptile and amphibian species in their natural habitats and gear each vivarium towards replicating their natural environments. This is intended not only to improve the aesthetics the aquarium, but to better suit the animal’s needs. As an avid reptile collector myself, I have found that designing the environment well ahead of time will lengthen the lifespan and reproductive success of my animals as compared to a bare minimum tank. Building for the last four years has given me a great amount of experience working with the materials and figuring out what does and more importantly, what does NOT work. Each individual tank is prepared and designed by hand and as such no two are alike. I have designed vivariums for large animals such as Nile Crocodiles and Alligator Snapping Turtles, to venomous Gaboon and Eyelash vipers, down to nano-saltwater aquariums and poison arrow frogs. Whether your looking for something grand to impress your neighborhood or small to place on desk, I'm your guy.
